

Apprenticeship Information

An apprenticeship at The Nail Garden provides a one-on-one, hands on training experience. After 600 hours of training, you will have everything needed to take state boards and become a successful nail technician.
600 hours and a minimum of 6 months is required by the state of Michigan to complete a manicurist apprenticeship. After 150 hours of theory (book work) and practical (hands on) work, you may practice on the public, where you will receive tips. You will receive hands on, one-on-one training that will consist of the following:

-Sanitation, disinfection, and safety
-Infectious diseases, fungus, bacteria
-Client consultations and analysis
-Basic manicure and pedicure
-Acrylic, hard gel, builder gel, gel-x, and polygel
-State board test preparation
-Licensing
-Taxes
-Business strategies
Pricing
The price for the kit and books may change slightly.
Kit: $260
Books: $390
State board registration fee: $25
A $100 deposit is due before registration to hold your spot. Your deposit will go towards the payment of your books, kit, and state registration fee, which is due at the time of registration.
Schedule
The apprenticeship is 600 hours in 6 months. The days available to attend are Tuesday-Saturday. The days that you attend and how many hours per day can be semi-flexible.
